The bright side of a colonoscopy

I had a colonoscopy this morning, which means there’s no getting around that today (and last night) has been long and pretty awful. In case you haven’t done this before, you have to drink FOUR LITERS of gag-inducing laxatives. Yeah, it sucked.

I’ve been having pretty severe GI issues for more than a year now, but my appointment was only scheduled yesterday so I had to scramble to find a ride. The real hero of today is our friend Kelley (yep, Abby‘s vet). She not only drove me to and from the appointment, but she waited there for hours and texted Mama updates during my procedure. Then she even came back in the evening, picking up food and a prescription and helping cook dinner. It was magical. I am so grateful to have such a good friend in our lives.

Today’s #OneGoodThing was finding a bright side of a colonoscopy. I won’t know the biopsy results for about 10 days so please think good thoughts for me. And please don’t ignore your own GI issues.

Day 146 of 365. And Day 512 in a row!

1 year ago today: Remembering Mema
