New peach tree and a composter

Clockwise from Top L: Paisley photobombs our tumbling composter and then our new peach tree; Chives, Christmas Cactus, and Rosemary blooms

The warm winter sun feels more like spring and has put us in the mood to be in our garden!

Today we finished assembling our tumbling composter; Mama and I were thrilled to nearly fill up one side and start making our own quality soil for the garden we’re planning! We’ve named the composter ‘Darth.’

Mama and I also picked up a new peach tree from our favorite farmers at our local Saturday market. This little gem is now planted near the Emerald Beaut Pluot tree that we got from them a couple weeks ago; and both are hooked up to our drip watering system. I see peach cobbler in our future!

“Don’t bother me,” her expression says. “I’m soaking up the last of the sun.”

Paisley photobombed both the composter and peach tree photos so you could get a feel for their sizes. While gardening, Mama and I noticed our chives are returning (we thought they all died), these shockingly bright pink flowers on the Christmas Cactus, and sweet little buds on the rosemary.

Today’s #OneGoodThing was planting our new peach tree, beginning our own composting, and spending time in our now-starting-to-bloom-again garden!

Day 41 of 365. And Day 772 in a row (here’s the first 366 & the following 365)!
