Welcome to my blog, Nosy Parker, the personal and professional musings of a curious mind. My name is Gabriana (and besides being a perpetual Nosy Parker), I’m a book loving, chai-latte and mint chocolate addicted, information sharing, perpetually hopeful, 30-something-year-old writer/editor (and caregiver) specializing in organized creativity.
Professionally… I’ve worked as a writer/editor in broadcast, print and online media — most recently as a freelance Content Producer at NBC Bay Area (KNTV). I graduated with honors from the University of Southern California (Fight On!), earning my B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. I’ve served on nonprofit community leadership boards for most of the last 15 years. As a detail-oriented, passionate foodie and world traveler, I love to design and manage events worldwide. For more on my professional experience, including my portfolio of journalism and design work, please visit my website: www.gabrianamarks.com.
At the moment… I’m a full-time caregiver for my dear Mama, who is fighting a rare and aggressive terminal brain cancer called Anaplastic Hemangiopericytoma. It has been a difficult journey together, but I am grateful that we have this time to share. Check out the tribute post I wrote about my AMAZING Mama! I’ve been blogging about Venice, Italy like crazy because a very special trip there (thanks to the help of some friends) completely revitalized Mama.
Girl’s best friend… Several years ago, I adopted an incredibly sweet-natured and loving, little Boston Bull Pug from Wonder Dog Rescue. Another natural nosy parker, Abby loves to explore and cuddle. She is named for my favorite NCIS character, world-class forensic scientist Abby Sciuto. Abby, a medical alert service dog, joined us in Venice and LOVED it; read more about Abby’s Venetian adventures here.
Shalom and Ciao!
